Some of the parts, which are common with all types of the harp are its neck, resonator and the strings. The harp music had a quality that thrusts itself into attention in all the cultures of the music till the advent of the modern period. There are some instruments kithara, autoharp or lyre that closely resembles harp. But these are not included in the category of the harps because the strings of these instruments do not form a right angle with that of the soundboard.
Mostly the harps are made of wood and speaking about its structure they are mostly triangular. Some forms of the harps that are used in the modern ages are bow harps and angle harps. The harps are usually played with the help of the hand though some forms of the harps are played with the leg. When we consider the harps that are played with hand, all the fingers are used in playing the harps with the exception being the little finger which are weak and short.
