Accordion came into existence during the early nineteenth century. The principle is said to be taken from Chinese instrument “sheng” Accordion has two important mechanism Bass mechanism and Treble mechanism. Bass mechanism is used to control bass switches, bass reed block and bellows while treble mechanism takes care of treble keyboard, treble switches, treble reed block etc. Accordion may be bisonoric which depends on the direction of movement of bellows or unisonoric which is independent of bellow movement. The bellow is compressed or expanded by the player and the switches are set to open or close. The air from the bellow passes through the reeds producing the desired tune as output. Accordion is a one man instrument and can produce good band music on its own as very versatile instrument.
The rand hand system of the accordion may have key board like piano or buttons. The left hand system may be free bass or Straddle bass. Accordion comes under the family of harmonica and one of the main instruments in folk music. The tune is produced depending on the direction, speed of movement of the bellow and the keys which allows the air to enter it. As there are many switches large number of different tunes can be produced very easily. Accordion is very portable and it can work in solo generating many innovative tunes and loops presented here.
